Spot the Phishing Attempt
Learn to Identify Suspicious Emails and Protect Your Organization from Cyber Threats

The Problem
Phishing emails are one of the most common cybersecurity threats facing organizations today. Many employees struggle to identify these deceptive messages, which puts company data and systems at risk. A realistic and engaging training solution was needed to help employees build practical skills in identifying and responding to phishing attempts.

The Solution
I designed an interactive e-learning experience using Articulate Storyline 360 to train employees to recognize and properly handle phishing emails. The module simulates a real email inbox and provides a hands-on, decision-based learning environment that mirrors the types of choices employees make every day.

Key Features
-
Drag-and-Drop Email Sorting: Learners review five realistic emails and decide whether to report them as phishing or place them in the safe folder.
-
Interactive Hover Effects: Learners can hover over links within emails to reveal full URLs, mimicking real inbox behavior and reinforcing critical thinking habits.
-
Results and Feedback Layer: Learners receive immediate feedback on their decisions with clear explanations of why each email is legitimate or a phishing attempt.
-
Realistic Scenarios: The emails reflect real-world phishing tactics, such as spoofed sender addresses, urgent messaging, and misleading links. This adds practical value to the experience.
-
User-Friendly Design: The clean and modern interface replicates a corporate inbox, providing a familiar and intuitive environment for learners to build cybersecurity awareness.

Why This Project Stands Out
This eLearning module guides learners through the decision-making process they would use in a real inbox. By focusing on phishing clues such as sender addresses, mismatched URLs, and suspicious messaging, the course helps employees develop the skills needed to identify and report threats before they become problems. The realistic design, immediate feedback, and engaging interactions make this project a powerful example of scenario-based eLearning.
